Domestic Tourism
The importance of the domestic sector in supporting tourism recovery in the medium term is reflected in the spend contributions reflected in South African Tourism’s Annual Reports. Figure 4 represents the recovery of tourism in South Africa, from an occupancy perspective, keeping in mind that international tourist arrivals in 2023 were about 83% of the arrivals in 2019.
