The 47% over-performance in publication output, 740 units against a target of 504, reflects the rapid uptake of targeted research incentives, increase
of postdocs, introduction of new policies, expanded faculty mentorship and writing-support workshops, and streamlined internal editorial assistance that together have accelerated manuscript submission and acceptance rates; moving forward, we will build on this momentum by deepening interdisciplinary and industry partnerships, investing in digital research platforms to enhance collaboration, and tailoring incentive structures to priority thematic areas to sustain and even amplify our scholarly productivity.

While we achieved 98% of our research master’s graduate target in 2024 (185.5 of 190), the 2 % shortfall stems from surging enrolments driven by new HESQF-aligned engineering and health qualifications,
which have outpaced our current supervisory capacity. Extended thesis review cycles, following strengthened quality- assurance protocols, and constrained student support resources further widened
the gap. To future-proof our performance and improve throughput rates, we will expand supervisory capacity by training PhD holders who are not yet supervising alongside strategic adjunct appointments, streamline administrative and examination workflows via digital research-management platforms, and bolster candidate support services (e.g., writing retreats, statistical consulting), ensuring we meet and exceed forthcoming targets.
