   The University exceeded its
2024 doctoral graduate target, producing 117 units against
an 85 goal (138%), primarily
due to strengthened Research Programmes like targeted supervisor development workshops, appointment
of adjunct professors, etc., enhanced funding and scholarship schemes for doctoral candidates (including externally sponsored fellowships), and
the implementation of a thesis-by-publication model
that streamlined completion pathways. Looking forward, maintaining this momentum will depend on continued investment in supervisor training, expansion of interdisciplinary and industry-linked doctoral cohorts, digitalisation of research support services, and proactive partnership development to ensure both the quality and sustainability of future doctoral outputs.

The 35% overshoot of the 2024 KPI for total research outputs, 1276.50 against a target of 949, reflects the successful roll-out of targeted initiatives over the past year, including the expansion
of internal seed-funding schemes, enhanced mentorship and writing workshops for early-career academics, and more effective cross-faculty research clusters, all of which have accelerated manuscript submission and completion rates; moving forward, sustaining and building on this momentum will require strategic investment in digital research support platforms, deeper industry and international partnerships to broaden publication avenues, and refined incentive structures that reward high-impact, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaborations.
