Regarding gender, Figure 24 shows that the number of female-rated researchers increased by 3 from 2023 to 2024, with women comprising 26% of all researchers in 2024. This reflected a 2% increase compared to the previous year.
RESEARCH CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS – INTERNAL
FUNDING
The primary objective of Research Capacity Development (RCD) funding is to facilitate and enhance the growth of research capacity and scientific leadership within the University setting. As detailed in Table 8, various sources of funding support different RCD initiatives. In 2024 financing for these initiatives was derived from the University Capacity Development Grant (UCDG) as well as additional University funding.
