  Dr Nalini Govender

Nalini Govender has a PhD Degree in Maternal Health, with particular focus on preeclampsia development.
                            She is currently managing two multidisciplinary projects linked to preeclampsia development and its management, as well as the association between the ACE2/TMPRSS2 receptors and COVID-19. She has published 37 peer reviewed articles in DHET approved journals and has one book chapter in the Biomedical Visualisation: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology. Her research findings have been disseminated in several international peer-reviewed conferences. She secured grants from NRF Thuthuka between 2009 to
date; graduated one PhD and nine Masters students; received the “Highly Competent: Strengthening Postgraduate Supervision” certificate;andholdsathree-yearmembership on the DHET Research Outputs sub-panels. She COILs with universities from Brazil, Spain, and Philippines; holds memberships to PSSA, IFPA, PHASA and ASSA; and contributes to the NRF Thuthuka Health Sciences Adjudication Panels. Her Google scholar index (citations: 225; h-index 8; i10-index 7).
