  Ms Rebecca Reddy

Rebecca Reddy has an honours and master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).
                            She is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences in the department of Basic Medical Sciences at the Durban University of Technology. Her areas of expertise include but are not limited to; in vivo pre- clinical animal studies using experimental models of diabetes, hypertension, and pre- eclampsia and the application of laboratory and analytical procedures for treatment of diseases. Her current research focuses on indigenous medicinal plants and plant-derived
compounds in the treatment and management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Her research goals are to identify active biomolecules in medicinal plants as leads for new drug candidates. Her career goal is to be in the forefront amongst global scientists who seek to transform the health and well-being of individuals and societies, thereby ensuring a profile of healthy people who are capable of driving strong economies.
