Dr Korporaal is a senior lecturer in the Department of Chiropractic, where she is actively involved in teaching, clinical supervision and research supervision. Within the Department one of her portfolios is
Community Engagement. In this context she blends the need for providing students with a varied patient case mix to enhance their clinical training; the need for educating scholars and communities about DUT and the chiropractic programme; and the need to address identified health care and social needs within the different communities that these patients stem from.This has led to many projects over the last 20 years, including the placement of graduates in communities that previously did not have access to chiropractic services. Professionally, she is also a peer reviewer for various conferences and she peer reviews for 13 journals.
