On behalf of Durban University of Technology – Centre for Social Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator, I am delighted to present the annual report for the year 2022/2023, which reflects the organization’s remarkable journey. This time period has been characterized by unwavering commitment and strategic execution, as we continue to drive socio economic transformation via sustainable business
Dinitiatives.
UT CSERI made significant strides over the past year. Our dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and nurturing business innovation has resulted in a
substantial increase in the number of startups incubated and employment opportunities generated. Our efforts during this POST-COVID period have not only preserved existing
employment, but also propelled SMMEs towards exponential growth, reinforcing our commitment to financial stability and job security.
DUT CSERI has admirably met and surpassed both SEDA and DUT’s performance expectations. Significant milestones have been reached in fostering entrepreneurial skills and promoting socially, ethically, and environmentally conscious business practices among our incubatees. The Center’s KPIs are outlined in detail in the subsection of the report titled DUT CSERI MAIN KPI and milestones. Although obstacles were present, they were met with resiliency and strategic adaptation. These obstacles, whether regulatory compliance or resource limitations have only strengthened our resolve to have a lasting impact.
