  Fam tour
   Status
   Ugandan Filmmakers fam tour
 Fam tour for Ugandan filmmakers took place in July 2023. Shoot dates have not been confirmed.
 A Wesley’s South African Christmas- USA DELEGATION
   Hosted 4 of the top 15 world’s best location scouts, and American producers in July 2023. The production came back to film in March 2024.
   Lobola man- BURNT ONION
 The fam tour took place in August 2023 and the production came back to film in the province at various locations including the Wilson’s Wharf in September 2023.
 The Ultimate Braai Master- TRACE TV
  KZNFILM secured season 9 of UBM to film in KZN various locations through fam tour that was held in August 2023. The shoot will take place from May to June 2024.
 Alpha & Omega Fam tour
   Fam tour with the UK, USA and SA delegation took place in November 2023. The shoot date has not been communicated yet.
   Other productions assisted within the financial year:
Spear- Gambit Films: Production came back to film for 3 months using predominantly KZN crew. Production utilised Durban Film Production, a location scout sourced by KZNFILM to look for locations. The technical recce with the location scout was in July 2023. The production came back to film in August-October 2023.
Reyka-Quizzical Pictures: For season 2, Locations and facilities assisted with an introduction to relevant location owners and managers, and also kept following up to ensure that all the required permits were issued.
BBC STUDIOS: Assisted BBC Studios team with securing a permit to film a brand new six-part series celebrating the continent’s wildlife produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit for Nat Geo TV and Disney+. The shoot is set to take place Mid to late April for a period of 3 days.
NFVF Female Slate -HER STORY: Shared valuable location contacts such as SABC Studios and Durban Art Gallery, which could potentially serve as filming locations for their project. Additionally, Yellowbone Entertainment to the relevant municipalities to assist them with obtaining the necessary permits for filming in the designated areas.
OM BAKER: Upon seeking assistance for location scouting and permits, this Randburg based production company planning to film in the scenic areas around KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), specifically focusing on mountainous regions like the Drakensberg mountains, areas with winding roads, picturesque rivers was referred to Okhahlamba municipality for further support.
Interactive online map
The KZN Film Interactive online map, a pivotal tool for the film industry stakeholders in navigating various locations across KwaZulu-Natal, providing detailed information and visual aids such as images with GPS coordinates. This enhancement serves to precisely pinpoint the exact locations, offering invaluable support to the film industry in KZN.
Crew & Service Provider online database
Locations and Facilities Unit is finalising an online crew & film service providers database, which will enable crew members and service providers to register their services on this platform by themselves and this database will be linked with KZNFilm website. This will subsequently assist filmmakers and service providers to access more opportunities.
