The Highland Gathering
Since 1963, Amanzimtoti has been kilted out in tartan as bagpipers, dancers, and musicians descend on the beautiful coastal town for this family-friendly festival, hosted by the Amanzimtoti Lions Club. Around 10 000 visitors descend on Amanzimtoti for the biggest gathering of pipe bands in the southern hemisphere. The sound of bagpipes from dozens of bands fills the air as Scottish dancers entertain the crowds. There are also many flea market stalls, food stalls, car dealership stands, and children’s entertainment.
