objectives of AWLO.
  The AWLO HeforShe schools outreach 2021 commemorates international 16days activism against gender base violence. The outreach tours schools in Edo state, Nigeria, educating and sensitizing young boys and girls against gender
base violence and on gender parity. With massive engagement of University students through volunteerism, the team visited Igbinedion Education Centre, UNIBEN Consultancy Schools and a host of schools. AWLO schools outreach started in 2020 reaching hundreds of young boys in Rivers State.
Objective:
The aim of the schools outreach is to reduce Gender Base Violence Tendencies among young boys, extend gender parity education and sensitization to the younger generation and take oriented leadership skills training that is gender inclusive to the classrooms.
Highlights/Accomplishments:
• A record of 15 volunteers, 5 HeforShe champions and 10 young women of worth participated in the outreach and pledged allegiance to be a part of the AWLO community and vision.
• The vice Principal University of Benin Consultancy Schools showed solidarity and interest in becoming a member of the organisation. He is now a HeforShe ambassador of AWLO.
• An Edo based entrepreneur and manager of Osasu publishers Ms. Egbon Oluwafumilayo, showed equal desire to join the Edo State Chapter after an interaction with the team.
• The Outreach enjoyed the support and goodwill of Edo state chapter executives and the
Youth Council Matron.
AWLO Heforshe Schools Outreach has reached thousands of students in schools from just Rivers state and Edo state chapters alone.
