MAIN GOAL:
Conceptual: Self Portrait Exploration
Material/Medium: Try 3+ New Processes or Materials
My goal for this residency is to create 1-3 finished self-portrait pieces in which I push my mixed media
skills to the next level. I will choose 3 or more new materials or processes to experiment with and spend
the first month fully exploring these new materials! I will then spend the last two months creating the
final self-portrait pieces using a combination of both new and familiar materials. I would like at least one
of the finished pieces to be fully 3D and sculptural.
Several new materials/process I’m considering: Eco-printing, Cement, Fabric, Old Wood, Rusted Metal
SIDE GOALS:
- To write a blog post weekly for my blog. This could be about the process but also about other
topics, as the main goal is just to be weekly writing about creativity and creative process and
life.
- Send out two newsletters (every other month) during the residency, and work collaboratively to
figure out what will be included in my newsletters.
