In my artwork, I try to acknowledge the ordinary things we usually overlook
in everyday life. Quite often it is ordinary people doing things with attention,
courage and compassion who are life’s true heroes. The simplest object or
smallest detail can have a significant impact on one’s being.
My goal for this residency is to make one large assemblage to honor objects from
my childhood that have become touchstones in my life. While creating, I hope
to explore the use of new materials and
3-D techniques.
I moved recently and do not have a studio yet. My challenge will be making a
large piece in a small space, so I will have to figure out how to work efficiently
while avoiding my usual studio chaos. I may also need help in figuring out how
to adhere objects to my substrate.
