Raul Rene Gonzalez participated as the San Antonio Museum of Art’s first artist in residence. Taking inspiration
from three works of art on loan from Art Bridges, Raul Rene Gonzalez set up a temporary studio in SAMA’s
Great Hall with the task of painting a jazz-inspired work of art. Over three weekends, Raul spent his residency
completing a 48” x 60” acrylic painting and discussing his practice with visitors.
The program was funded by the Art Bridges Foundation.
