“Even before the sun itself hangs, disattached, in the
blue air, I am touched everywhere by its ocean of
yellow waves.” Mary Oliver, from The Buddha’s Last
Instruction, in House of Light, 1990.
Inspired by the poetry of Mary Oliver, I spent more
time in nature and on California beaches during this
last residency with the Enso Circle. Being present to
both the beauty and stillness of my surroundings along
with the mounting evidence of global warming with all
of its detrimental effects.
There is no denying the interconnectedness of our
world.
