Iynyan “Iya” DeWayne Todd was a loving and caring son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He
was born to Eddie and Dora Todd on October 11, 1967 at Baptist Hospital in Arkadelphia, AR. He
was the last child born into a rich family legacy filled with deep and meaningful relationships. He
was very family oriented and cared about his family and friends on deep and intimate levels. He
never met a stranger and was loved by everyone he encountered.
He graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1986. While growing up in Arkadelphia, he was
very active in all sports and excelled in many of them. Iya made the National High School Track
All-American team in 1985. His passion and love of sports would eventually be shared with his
children.
Iya had a great love of music and dancing. As a young man he would often DJ house parties.
Eventually, he developed a business providing DJ services for school events, social clubs and other
organizations. He was not only a DJ, mixing the music, but he also provided entertainment by
being an avid dancer at the various functions. He was known as a DJ from Arkansas to Georgia.
His stage name was DJ E. Dub.
He eventually moved from Arkadelphia, AR to Atlanta, GA where his love of music continued. He
was an entrepreneur at heart. He worked the music industry in Atlanta and was blessed to meet a
variety of famous singers and musicians. Being a jack of all trades, with an entrepreneur’s heart,
you would often find Iya with multiple businesses at one time.
In his later years, Iya was the glue to the family. He was always encouraging the family to have
reunions and get togethers, just to keep everyone connected. He would often reach out to family
members who lived across the country, to check on them and keep them bonded to the family.
His children gave him strength during the rough times and laughter and joy all of the time. He was
proud of and extremely supportive of all of his children. His love for sports and family could be seen
through his undying support of his sons as they played a variety of sports. His family and friends
will hold dear the stories of his life and will be privileged to share them as the years move on.
