3 Members Go To Districts
The 1986 Varsity Tennis team was one of new faces. The team had a new coach. Joel Levy is a student at Syra­ cuse University and a former resident of Ohio. Coach Levy’s young team was composed of three middle schoolers, Dru Damico, Rob Marangola and Dax Vlassis, two freshmen, Rick Pitch­ er and J.J. Orcutt, a sophomore, Mike Aldrich and senior members, junior John DeFrancisco.
The team’s attack was spearheaded by John DeFrancisco, Dax Viassis and Dru Damico. John DeFrancisco
was named MVP.
Although the members were very young, the team had a wealth o f tourna­ ment experience, with three of its mem­ bers ranked in the districts. The exper­
tise of the individual members led to a solid team which had a winning season.
With the strength and background of this young team, and the recruitment by Coach Levy of new talent, the Brothers will see a Sectional Title next season.
