JV Soccer team boasts an other successful season.
This year’s Junior Varsity Soccer team was a prime example of pride and determination. Despite a disappointing 1-5 start the Brothers, led by Captain Ted Barker, turned the season around for an impressive 6-5-1 finish.
Early in the season, prospects of success looked doubtful after losses to Baldwinsville, J.D., ESM, Nottingham and Os wego. Even with a win against Corcoran, team morale was quite low.
Almost as if the season started all over, the team reversed its play and won its next five games and tied one. With solid play up front from Rob Eckermann, who scored 6 goals, Ted Barker’s play in the midfield and John Koch’s strong defense, the Brothers scored their most important victory over Central Square which had previously beaten J.D. and lost a close game to Fulton.
This season, despite a slow start, wound up being quite successful. The members of the team who were involved in their team’s performance should be proud of their turn-around last fall.
