A season that began on a high note and looking to be spectacular turned into one that did not quite make the grade. They did extremely well considering the many injuries sustained by a number of the team members. The loss of key members throughout the season left the season not meeting the expectations of preseason predictions.
League play left the Brothers 3-5, which is very respectable considering that we had wins over teams such as Jamesville-Dewitt and Fowler. Most im portantly, we had a win over our archri val, Bishop Ludden. As a matter of fact, the team not only beat Bishop Ludden, but they were crushed under the Broth ers’ track shoes. Losses came under excellent teams, such as Central Square, Cortland, Nottingham, Corco ran and Fulton, all of whom were indeed excellent teams.
The Brothers went on to the section als and did extremely well. Their record was 14-21 in Division B. Led by Randy Deyulio and Bill Deptula, the co-cap tains, the Brothers finished as the sec ond highest Catholic School in Division B Sectionals. Through hard work and dedication the team was able to make a season beset with troubles into a sea son we can all be proud of.
