Varsity Basketball Brings Sectional Title
Home; Six Years Is A Long Wait
This year’s Varsity Basketball Team began with a rather somber outlook. Although the team im proved their record from last year with the addition of two victories, this fact was marred by a greater number of losses. The Brothers used a lot of practice and a little luck to change the outcome of their season. They used every opportu nity to their advantage.
Talented players brought the B-
1 title to CBA. Tom Robb recov ered from last years ankle injury to prove his value in the team’s ef forts. Senior Carl Hummel and Sophomore Scott Laba were a key connection for needed points. Sophomore Mark Adams led the O.H.S.L. North Metro Division in scoring with 17.9 points a game. Senior Neil Mauer earned the hon ors of playing in a game of star seniors due to his control and fast
actions.
With a grim entrance into post-J
season play with a 6-11 record, the] team made a glorious comeback! when they beat top seed New Hart-1 ford. Defeating Corcoran, the team advanced to sectionals, wherej they stuck it out with Fowler and] received a 64-60 victory. Only byj the clock were the Brothers edgedf out of state competition.
