 The Purple & Gold returned this year with one key element that stimulated the staff; quality. Striving mea­ sures were taken to improve the newspaper and pro­ vide CBA with issues that were both interesting and informative.
First year moderator, Mr. Peter Kozik worked with editor Kieth Battaglia in battling deadlines and operat­ ing the copy machines while the dedicated staff orga­ nized and stapled hundreds of copies of the Purple & Gold. Assistant editor Joe Guinto and layout editor
Brad Pinski made difficult decisions as to the apper- ance of the paper and it’s contents.
Another change was the beginning of a classified section as a service to the students. The suggestion of a “ Lost Article’’ section, which came from Rafael Gon- gora, would give outdated and unprinted articles a chance in the Purple & Gold.
When these ideas were combined with the old, such as faculty/student interviews and music reviews, the staff realized that the effort put forth by all evoked positive results. The “ quality” was evident. Creative writing by Tom Giaccobi and John Lucas added to this tradition of excellence.
