When the Going Gets Tough The Tough Get
Going — J.V. Squad Gives it Their All.
The 1986 CBA football season had a definite highlight in the suc cess of the varsity program. The Junior Varsity squad, though not as successful, put in a hard season of practice and playing.
Playing second string to a quality varsity program is always difficult and means a lot of sacrifice — less fan support, less equipment, and most importantly the loss of key players to the varsity ranks.
This year’s group of Junior Var sity players kept their spirit and
pride however as they struggled and learned more about the game each week. Coach Cosgrove took a group of largely inexperi enced freshman players with only a few sophomores to rely on for lead ership and fielded a team that proved it is not always whether you win or lose that is important it is how you play the game and what you learn that is important. Tradi tions of excellence are established over time, next year looks hopeful for a successful season.
