 Swimmers create a splash
The outstanding performances of many individuals result ed in much of the success of the swim team. With five returning swimmers beginning the season along with nine teen incoming recruits. Coach Roy Staley had much to smile about. It appeared that their experience had not yet
been tapped early in the season as the Brothers lost their first three meets. A noticeable and rapidly developing profiency in swimming skills resulted in their first win on January 8, against a combined Nottingham-Corcoran team. Expanding further on their potential the members of the CBA swim team went on to achieve another winning season, which included twice beating Watertown.
Close to four months of intense practice resulted in vast improvement. During the Christmas break, the team strug gled through double session workouts, sometimes swim ming up to eight miles a day. These efforts paid off, as exceptional performances were recorded by Section III record setter Dennis Daley, as well as Rick Sweeney, George Bourdelais, and Chris McLaughlin. The young team clearly expects to continue its winning perfor mances.
