Girls V arsity Tennis

New to the tennis team this year, senior Liz McGinn steps up in a match against JD.
The 1997 girls tennis team had another outstanding season. Finishing with an overall record of 13 wins and 1 loss, the team won the Metro Tournament and the Class C Sectional Championships for the second year in a row.
Captains Lisa Panebianco and Jessica Schlosser, along with Lindsey Hess and Liz McGinn, all competed in the State Championship Qualifiers.
The newest edition to the 1997 team was native South African, Coach Thinus Verdus. Coach Verdus, one of Central New York’s strongest professional ten nis players, was the backbone of this team’s success.
The 1998 season is expected to bring new challenges with the loss of its strong first doubles team. The team will also be losing seniors Lisa Panebianco, as well as seniors Michal Gradoville, Amy Buerkle, Christie Majesky, Maite DaCosta, and the Mary Spanburgh. We look forward to another successful sea son.
