Christmas Assembly is a Crowd Pleaser
Back by popular demand, the Sec ond Annual Christmas Assembly was once more a huge success. Just like last years show, the assembly was rock-music-oriented with a few comi cal skits thrown in for good measure. Practice for the Assembly started weeks before the December show as the bands held jam sessions after
I school and the night before the show, ithe Assembly was given a dry run Iunder the guidance of Booster Club 'Chairman Tom Michaud, who orga- ^nized the assembly with Brother
Richard. Things did not go smoothly
at first. Many amplifiers blew out, and er impersonations. The scene was there was a shortage of extension many years ago as the teachers
cords which hampered the rehears als. Luckily, the bugs were worked out, and the Assembly itself went off with relative ease.
Dave DalPos opened the Assem bly by playing “ The Star Spangled Banner’’ on the guitar in a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Carl Hummel and his band got things off to a flying start with “China Grove’’ by the Doobie Brothers and “ Good times — Bad times” by Led Zepplin. Next came the high-point of the assembly, the teach
(Mike Roach as Mr. Manning, Jude Burke as Mr. Conroy, Rob Partyka as Dr. Kotch, Pete Shepardson as Brother Thomas and Andy Dober as Mr. Schnipp) gave their Christ mas lists to Santa Claus (Rob Toole). Then came the break dancers fol lowed by a solo by Guy Fenocchi. The Corporate Zero’s capped the As sembly with an amazing rendition of
the Sex Pistol’s “ God save the Queen.”
(Left) Andy Dober’s unforgettable rendition of Mr. Schnipp was the highlight of the assembly.
(Middle) It is said Travis Heiser’s booming voice could be heard as far away as Manley Field House.
(Above, left) Mark Hays makes a last-minute volume adjustment on his amp.
(Above, Right) A touch of class is added to Charlie Michaud’s work on the lights.
Separated at birth, the twins are united. Mr. Conroy and Jude Burke compare beards.
