Student Senate Debates Over Decisions and Doughnuts
Student leaders note continued success of programs
Over the course of the years stu- I dents participate in and stand witness I to a diverse array of Senate coordi- I nated activities. This year proved to I be no exception. President George
Blasiak took the driver’s seat and through the invaluable efforts of his executive board: Pat Conole, Greg Bell, and John O’Connor, managed to crank the Senate into Mexican overdrive.
It was Blasiak who, in conjunction with Tom Michaud and the Booster Club, engineered one of the most memorable pep-rallies in CBA history.
It was also the Blasiak administration that was responsible for the install ment of the soda machine as well as the overwhelming success of Winter Week and the Freshman Field Days.
The element most responsible for the year’s success seemed to lie in the unity that Blasiak created in the Senate and that slowly permeated the entire student body. Said Junior Class President Erik Westerlund, “ He seems to control the Senate almost effortlessly.’’
Numbering among the officers’ most noted contributions was a first
time concert ticket raffle, which fell under the direction of Sophomore President Casey Fallon. In addition to this type of cooperation, the Ex ecutive Board worked in unison with the Booster Club to produce the monthly calendar of events outside the main office.
It is clear that the Senate has made its impact felt throughout the school. The Blasiak administration continued to press on and the Senate as a whole continued to churn out additions to the Senate’s already innumerable suc cesses.
