Swaps:
Ricotta or cottage cheese, well drained, can stand in for the farmer
cheese. But substitute 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar for the
granulated sugar called for in the recipe and cut out the milk
altogether.
Crème fraîche is an alternative to the cream cheese.
Any jam is delicious but know if using apricot or peach, the pie will
closely resemble sunny-side-up eggs.
Chopped or crushed fresh berries, sprinkled with a whisper of sugar
and left to sit for 20 minutes, can swap in for the jam.
