Note:
The chocolate filling calls for 3 egg yolks. Instead of tossing the

whites (if you don’t have another use for them), you could serve this
pie with a meringue topping in place of the whipped cream. Simply
omit the whipped cream and follow the recipe for any one of the
meringue toppings in this chapter.
