4 Leaving the cracked shell in place, lower 2 eggs into each mug of
food coloring. Put the mugs in the fridge for 7 to 12 hours.
5 Remove the eggs from the mugs and pat dry with a paper towel.
Gently peel the shell from each egg, revealing the spiderweb pattern
underneath. The color will be closer to a deep indigo than a true
black.
6 Cut each egg in half lengthwise and set the yolk halves aside in a
bowl. Set the white halves on a serving plate (or a 9” x 13” sealable
container, if not serving right away).
7 Add the yolks to a medium bowl with all the remaining ingredients
and mash until well combined. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a
large star tip (such as a Wilton 1M tip).
8 Pipe filling into each egg half. If not serving right away, cover tightly
with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Serve upon a midnight dreary!
