Makes 8 cheese bites
“The King of Mice charged him. Marie was beside herself. . . . Without quite knowing what
she was doing, she took off her left shoe and flung it with all her might into the thick of the
enemy, hoping to hit their king. In that moment, everything vanished from Marie’s sight.”
Sometimes the best recipes don’t involve any cooking at all. These cheese bites are quick
to assemble and will disappear off the plate just as quickly!
INGREDIENTS
8 white cheddar spreadable cheese wedges
8 square wheat crackers
16 almond slices
16 whole black peppercorns
1 grape tomato
1 cucumber
1 large sprig fresh rosemary (48 leaves needed)
1 slice cheddar cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
1 Place the cheese wedges flat on the crackers.
2 For ears, insert 2 almond slices on top of each cheese wedge at
the base of the triangle. For eyes, place 2 peppercorns in the middle
of each triangle.
3 For the nose, cut 8 tiny triangles from the tomato and place them
on the triangle tip of each cheese wedge. For the tails, cut 8 (4-inch)
slivers from the cucumber and insert them into the back of each
cheese wedge, making a hole with a toothpick if necessary.
4 For whiskers, insert two rosemary leaves on either side of the
triangle tip, under the tomato nose.
