Business in Unincorporated Areas
If you intend to operate a business which is located in the unincorporated areas of Kings County a Zoning or
Home Occupation Permit is needed which can be obtained from the Community Development Agency. To
get the application it is highly suggested that you contact the Community Development Department for the
County and schedule an appointment at (559) 852-2670. Speaking with the department directly is impera-
tive as zoning is determined by your speci c operations of business and last as long as your business opera-
tions do.
SIGNAGE PERMIT
The county has its own requirements for obtaining a signage permit. More information is also listed on the
County website in the Development Code and Application Forms section of the Community Development
Department. You can review Articles 4-9 for Zone speci cs or review Article 14 as a general understanding.
