4.0 Description of Study area:
This study was conducted in Rishikesh, a tehsil in Dehradun district of the Indian state

Uttarakhand. Dumpsite in Rishikesh is located at Govind Nagar (30° 06 0 2 , 1 2 0 E) at

Purani Chungi, Haridwar Road. The city is just 25 km from the holy city Haridwar and 230 km from
New Delhi, the Indian capital.
