The desert expedition team will travel on foot with 20 Bactrian camels bearing the supplies. The caravan will stretch out some 2 miles when on the move between dawn and dusk, when camp is made, 6 foot water holes are dug and research carried out
The support team will face their own challenges following the southern silk route by vehicle making the necessary off-road journeys into the desert from designated points to supply the desert team with resupplies of vital water & camel grain.
The presence of the support team ensures emergency evacuation capability in the unlikely event of this being required.
