        something for everyone



        The summer kicks off with the Festival Orchestra performing    concerto, Mahler in the Mountains with the composer’s
        the epic and beloved Symphony No. 9 by Beethoven (containing   rarely-performed Symphony No. 7, and guitarist JIJI in Rodrigo’s
        the famous “Ode to Joy”) with the Festival Chorus and      Concierto de Aranjuez.
        internationally-renowned soloists, led by Sir Donald Runnicles.   Stéphane Denève returns as a guest conductor; Kevin John
        Other highlights include a world premiere song cycle by    Edusei and Enrique Mazzola make their Festival debuts. The
        Australian composer Alex Turley with mezzo-soprano Sasha   Festival Orchestra series culminates in a semi-staged production
        Cooke, Festival favorite ensemble Time for Three playing Kevin   of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, featuring world-class
        Puts’ Contact concerto, violinist James Ehnes and the Brahms   opera soloists and the Festival Chorus.
