Autumn Performances!

Dear Friends,
Welcome to New West Symphony’s October and November 2024 performances
— it’s great to be back onstage performing for you!
We are so pleased to present our concertmaster, Alyssa Park, as soloist in October.
Los Angeles-based composer Derrick Skye answered the call to compose a
companion piece to Ravel’s Roma-inspired Tzigane, and the result is thrilling.
We welcome back longtime partners, Pacific Festival Ballet, bringing the dance

to Brahms’ Hungarian Dances, and 5-Star Theatricals helps us launch our encore
initiative! Partnerships and collaborations are key to the success of our arts
community, and we proudly seek opportunities to work together.
Our November performances come days before the 2024 US general election,
and this program, while not crafted with the election itself in mind, leaves us
inspired by our expansive, shared national resources. Joseph Sohm’s riveting
visual tour of the United States’ grandeur set to Dvořák’s New World Symphony
reminds us how fortunate we are to enjoy the abundance of Mother Earth here.
Pianist Lara Downes’ advocacy for American music onstage and in the radio
studio is a great inspiration.
Our Winter Spectacular performances and Winterfest dinner are just around the
corner, and of course, our 30 Anniversary season, A Symphonic Odyssey, begins

We are truly blessed to have the multitude of benefi ts of the New West
Symphony and its many partners available to us in our “own backyard.” Your
support enables us to enhance cultural vibrancy in our community, and we thank
