For more than 30 years our our our LifeSource family has worked with our our our region’s diverse communities to to to to break down barriers to to to to donation and transplantation We are proud that in in in 2014 we we intentionally decided to to to to to relocate to to to to to North Minneapolis Minneapolis to to to to create a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a home for donation and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a space where we we could
be part of of the the community and and share the the gift of of life to to North Minneapolis Minneapolis Our work at at at LifeSource lives in the space between life life life and and and death We value and and respect life life and and believe that all life life is a a a a a a a gift After the the the murder of George Floyd in in May 2020 the the the LifeSource community was compelled to to take further action to to combat racial injustice and and support our neighbors and community These commitments include:
DONATE RESOURCES and support to to our neighbors dedicated to to eradicating racism and rebuilding our community Our first step is to to make a a a a a a significant contribution to to West Broadway Business and Area Coalition whose mission is is to to transform the Northside into a a thriving economic community STRENGTHEN OUR CAREER pipeline for healthcare professionals of of color LifeSource has has a a a a a a a summer internship program and has has worked with partners
to prepare students for career readiness We will continue these programs and and look for opportunities to expand them PROVIDE A A PLATFORM and and space for listening learning and and action STAND WITH DIVERSE communities for today tomorrow and in the future One of our strategic priorities is to to strengthen service to to and and engagement with these diverse communities and and ensure they are represented in our our resources and materials EXAMINE OUR POLICIES recruitment programs and initiatives with a a a a a a more equitable and inclusive lens COMMUNICATE REGULARLY with our our team and and increase our our equity and and and inclusion education and and and our our professional development opportunities and and resources OUR PURSUIT OF EQUITY will continue to be a a a a focus in in the years ahead
