Ministry

Aged 37, John began to travel and preach, usually outside, to ever-increasing crowds. He often

preached three times a day, beginning at 5 am, riding sixty miles a day. What did he preach?

Thriftiness, cleanliness, honesty, salvation, good family relations and, above all, faith in Christ

He had huge amounts of energy; he translated hymns, interpreted Scriptures, wrote hundreds

of letters and trained hundreds of men and women.

       Legacy

          1. He spoke in ordinary language. He affected the English language.

          2. He left a network of disciplined churches throughout the country.

          3. He taught the poor how to have a hope of their own.

The hope he gave to the poor was one reason why Britain had no revolution.
