6. Talk about how desert landscapes are shaped (wind, heat, water). Describe, and show
pictures, of sand storms, rock basins and dunes which often result from erosion, etc.
7. Discuss the climate in the deserts which can be very hot but also very cold at times.
8. Give the children the task sheet to discover more about deserts for themselves.
9. Gather to share and to pray for any children who feel ‘dry’ and need God’s refreshing.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
The children should have greater understanding of deserts, the climate and landscapes.
They should be able to locate the largest deserts across the world. They will also have had
the opportunity to conduct their own research and record their findings.
They should also appreciate that our spiritual lives can become like deserts if we do not
drink of the Holy Spirit, pray, read God’s Word, etc.
