

 pronouns in purple

 prepositions and propositional phrases in brown
 connectives and conjunctions in black
 articles in yellow

1. Hezekiah was a young man when he was made king. (3 nouns, 3 verbs, 1 adjective,
1 pronoun, 1 conjunction)
2. His mother was called Abijah. (2 nouns, 2 verbs, 1 pronoun)

3. Hezekiah was a good, upright man who obeyed God. (3 nouns, 2 verbs, 2 adjectives,
1 conjunction)
4. God was with Hezekiah; he defeated the Philistines. (3 nouns, 2 verbs, 1 pronoun,
1 preposition)
5. Hezekiah went to the temple and prayed “God, you are enthroned over nations;
open your eyes, hear my prayer.” (6 nouns, 6 verbs, 3 pronouns,
1 conjunction, 1 preposition)

6. When Hezekiah was ill, he prayed, “Remember me, Lord, I have faithfully walked

before you and have served you wholeheartedly.” (2 nouns, 7 verbs, 1 adjective,
2 adverbs, 5 pronouns, 2 prepositions)
Write sentences to include the following: -
1. Two proper nouns + an adverb + a past tense verb
