GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD

Human beings eat lots of different foods so we are called ________________________.

Animals which only eat meat are called ________________________ but animals which eat plants are

called ________________________. We need food for growth and energy. God has designed our

digestive system brilliantly. This is how it works:-

The watery substance in our mouths helps to soften the food to make it easier to swallow. It is called

________________________. The food then passes into a tube known as the

________________________ which has circular muscles to force the food down into the

________________________. Gastric juices from the stomach wall break down the food even more.

Chemicals called ________________________ from the gall bladder help to break down fatty foods.

The food then passes into the first part of the small ________________________ which is the

________________________. In the walls of the intestine are blood vessels that carry some food to

different parts of the body. After passing through the small intestine remaining food goes into the

________________________ intestine. Food that cannot be digested is then passed out of the body.
