THE FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURS

I am reporting on two neighbours who had had a disagreement

but now wanted to make friends again. Mr Howell had upset Mr

Greenway by letting his hedge grow too high. Mr Greenway said

that Mr Howell’s hedge blocked the light from his lounge. Mr

Howell disagreed, saying that the trees had been there for

years.

One day Mr Greenway realised how silly it was to quarrel over

the height of a hedge and he wanted to say sorry for being so

petty.

He knocked on Mr Howell’s door and said that he wanted to put

things right so that they could be good neighbours again.

Thankfully, Mr Greenway felt the same so both men apologised
and it was agreed that the hedge would be cut down a little.

How refreshing it is to hear of a story with a happy ending!
