This is a comprehensive alphabetical list of all the databases to which the Unisa Library subscribes.
10. LINKING GOOGLE SCHOLAR TO THE UNISA LIBRARY
To link Google Scholar to the Unisa Library databases follow these steps:
If you are searching for information using Google Scholar (http://scholar.google.co.za), you can determine if the items are available at the Unisa Library by doing the following:
1.Click on Settings at the top of the page.
2.On the next page, select Library Links from the column on the left-hand side. 3.Type in the name “University of South Africa”
4.Tick the box next to “University of South Africa – Full Text @ Unisa Library.” 5.Click on the Save button at the bottom of your screen to save this setting.
When you conduct a search after changing the set-up, you will see the words UNISA (University of South Africa) Library on the right-hand side of the screen for all the articles where the full text is available via our library. Click on UNISA Library and then type in your student number and Unisa password to access the full-text article.
11. ELECTRONIC BOOKS
The Unisa Library has a growing collection of electronic books which can be read online. Most of them allow you to print or download sections of a book depending on the publisher’s licence agreements.
You can access electronic books in the following ways
• via Summon
You can search for e-books and other online resources using the library’s search engine. On the library website at https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/corporate/default/Library you will find a search box with the wording Search Unisa resources. Click inside the search box and type in your keywords and then click on “Search” to get results. To view only the results that are e-books, click the box on the left-hand side under Content type for “Books/ ebooks.”
