Keyboard/Display Unit
Description
Acrison’s MPKDU is a central Keyboard/Display Unit
that provides access to all calibration data, set points
and commands for up to 16 Acrison controllers (“Weight-
Loss-Differential” only). The MPKDU allows a single
Keyboard/Display Unit (KDU) to replace the individual
KDUs on each of the controllers in a system. This
improves both system reliability and cost by minimizing
the amount of hardware needed in the system.
By design, the MPKDU merges Acrison’s proven MD-
II 2000 Graphics KDU with a customized multi-feeder
control program. This approach allows the product to
retain almost all of the functionality of the original MD-
II 2000 Graphics KDU including support for gravimetric
or volumetric control and continuous or batching modes.
In addition, a System Screen permits users to view the
status of all 16 feeders simultaneously.
The MPKDU is connected using an RS-422 (2-wire)
multi-drop configuration, and communicates serially with
any MD-II-MFC (Multi-Feeder Controller), SBC-2000
(Single Board Controller) or MD-II 2000 (Weigh Feeder
Controller), which is equipped with the appropriate serial
communication module (using the DB-576 protocol). The
MPKDU is typically mounted in its own, separate
enclosure, which may be remotely mounted, or included
in a common enclosure with the controllers. Features:
• Provides Ratio/Proportioning control and Feed Rate
Totalization for up to 16 feeders.
• Contains support for Acrison’s 400 Series of “Weight-
Loss-Differential” Weigh Feeders (Series 200
Feeders not supported).
• NEMA 4/12 or NEMA 4X Enclosure.
• Controller password protection of calibration entries
is maintained.
• System Screen shows hopper level, “RUN” status
and Alarm status for up to 16 feeders (see photo
above).
• System “RUN/STOP” feature included.
• May be mounted up to 1,000 feet from controllers.
