Catholic Charities provides infant adoption (Joining
Hearts), emergency shelter, foster care & adoption
(DCS), homeless services (Front Door program),
housing, immigration legal services (Familias Unidas),
        unexpected pregnancy counseling (Joining Hearts)
and veterans services. They are also involved in the
PATH program finding the homeless in the woods
around Flagstaff during the cold winter months and
bringing them supplies or bringing them to town for
shelter during the frigid cold. They have (separate)
transitional housing for men and women getting out
of jail, so they don't fall right back into the situations

that put them in jail in the first place and domestic
violence shelters and housing as well. They are also
building senior living housing on the site of the old
Catholic school here in downtown Flagstaff with
Housing for Hope. They are so much more than a
"religious" program. The Catholic Charities Foster
Care Program and Housing for Hope are the two that
I give full tax credit donations to each year. I know
you said "not a book" but they deserve this.

       Why we love them:

They are addressing the real life struggles that
families in Flagstaff (and Northern Arizona) live
with on a daily basis. They treat disenfranchised
individuals in our society with the human dignity
and respect they, as human beings, deserve.
