Conquering 2020

                  The Start of Our Company

The year started off pretty slow for us. Everyone was a bit shy, but once the BOD

meetings started, we were a bit more comfortable with each other. Then it came to

creating a product idea. From the start, we talked about products that will "fill a need"

and the idea of creating a care box was always something we went over multiple

times. It was not until we were given the privilege to talk to the guest speaker from one

of the JA Podcast, Mr. Charlie Hermosa, creator of the Guam Gift Baskets. His start up

and reasons why he created this product, inspired us to go through with our idea and

create a box full of care.

                      Our Challenges

A lot of members kept showing up every other day, and it was hard for most of us to

speak up and get comfortable with each other. Once it got to the elections, things

got a bit more easy. We started having BOD meetings and that is where most of us

became more comfortable to speak up. Our members were also going down fast. A

lot of us had a lack of motivation and commitment to the team. And due to other

personal issues, members were not able to attend the main meetings, virtual events,

and BOD meetings. To overcome this, the members that did stayed gave a hard

working mindset and energy. We all started getting closer and really took advantage

                  of our communication outlets.

                      Human Resources

The Human Resources Departments consists of our president and HR vice president

which oversees a team of four to five members. At each meeting, executives

discussed specific events/tasks that needed to be done from a prepared agenda.

During the first few weeks, the team focused on icebreakers, elections, and upcoming

events like the JA Kick Off. Considering the amount of time we get to meet with our

mentors, we tried very hard to finish documents like the business plan, and Charter &

By-Laws. All of us were "first years," so we tried our best to navigate through the

necessary forms the best that we could.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 2
