INTRODUCTION
Educators are challenged to deal with the changing learning
landscape and devise ways of safeguarding and meeting the
rights of students to education while looking out for their safety
and adhering to the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task
Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases
and the Department of Health.
Under the new normal, Falcon School believes that its ultimate
objectives of (1) promoting academic excellence, (2) educating
students to be responsible, socially aware and God-fearing
citizens and (3) educating future leaders who will be agents of
positive change in their community and country continue to be
relevant and attainable. These can still be achieved through a
carefully conceptualized learning delivery plan that transcends
the limitations imposed by the absence of face to face, traditional
classroom set-up. Falcon School’s Primer: L.E.A.D.S. (Learner-
Enhanced Alternative Delivery System) aims to communicate to
the parents and learners the features of its learning program that
takes into consideration the different learning contexts of its
students while ensuring their health and safety. It addresses the
need to innovate and rethink the different ways of delivering the
Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) while relying on a
stronger collaboration between the home and school.
To maximize the school’s learning program, it is essential that
educators, parents and students continue to recognize the
importance of the home-school partnership, maintain open lines
of communication, cultivate collaboration and develop resilience
as the education sector transitions to the new normal.
