There's no doubt that you're helping our
residents stay warm during this chilly spring
weather. ST. MICHAEL LUTHERAN CHURCH OF
CANTON DONATES FOOD TO AFFORDABLE
LIVING RESIDENTS A large amount of food
was donated by St. Michael Lutheran Church
of Canton. They gave residents of Samaritas
Affordable Living at Gateshead Crossing several
boxes of food from their pantry.
FAMILY DOLLAR SUPPORT SAMARITAS
CADILLAC CLIENTS Taylor Nichole of
Family Dollar in Cadillac decided to put a
smile on the people's faces they serve in
Cadillac. And they succeeded by donating
several Valentine’s Day balloon bouquets,
224 balloons overall, to residents in

homes. REFUGEES Through Samaritas in Partnership with Human-I-T and General
Motors, new Detroit-based Afghan refugee families will have a head start
on resettlement with the equipment they need to be self-sufficient. In
March, 115 New Americans received a laptop computer, home internet,
and free tech support to help them establish their new life in Detroit.
The donations were made possible through a partnership with Human-
I-T, a social enterprise whose mission is to create equitable access to

have big hearts for the residents they serve every day. Each year Samaritas Senior Living –
Cadillac staff work to make Christmas extra special for residents by purchasing special gifts for
residents who need additional compassion. In 2021, Cadillac business leaders started Adopt-a-
Grandparent Christmas donation drive to expand the program to more residents and assist with
purchasing gifts for the residents. The program was a huge hit that will expand to other Samaritas
Senior Living communities in 2022.
