To Host Free Six Week Recovery Program for Residents
Samaritas is expanding its Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program to include a new
office in Saginaw located within the First Ward Community Center at 1410 N 12th
Street. The new space will give Samaritas staff a dedicated area to counsel clients and
host its newest service for those suffering from the negative outcomes of addiction
and other mental health issues.
In April, Samaritas launched its new, free six-week educational series to help people
better cope with life's difficulties and build resiliency. These convenient evening
classes will be available to Saginaw residents of all ages, regardless of their insurance
status. Every session will have a maximum of 10 participants, who will be guided
through an evidence-based curriculum led by a recovery coach and a case manager.
Participants will experience:
Interactive support groups Help identifying and navigating resources Clinical case management
Tips for managing life difficulties Help forming action plans Telehealth services when needed
Group feedback
Support like this offers fellowship and accountability to get people to stay on the road to recovery.

Ottawa SUD Team Making Positive Waves of Change
Charity Gorbach, the Samaritas Clinical Team Lead and Supervisor for the
Samaritas Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Ottawa office, recently met with the
new SUD Prevention Specialist at Ottawa Community Mental Health. She was
pleased to hear from the representative, "We've never once received any
negative feedback about Samaritas SUD programs. He heard so many
positive things from clients and other organizations that he wanted to know
what makes Samaritas different."
Charity took that opportunity to brag about her team and the quality work
they do to help those suffering with substance use disorders.
