MISSION SIZZLE
We live out our values everyday at Samaritas by helping the people we serve thrive.
Quality Service
Meet Mariam
Meet 7-year-old Mariam, a Samaritas refugee, who suffered complete hearing loss at just 3 years old. But she could hear the world
again with her community's love and support. School Impact, the Children's Hospital of Michigan, and one of our amazing
volunteers came together with love to make sure Mariam was a candidate for a cochlear implant.
The selfless act of love by the volunteer who provided transportation for all of Mariam's medical appointments and follow-ups
was genuinely touching. And with the help of the cochlear implant, Mariam can now hear all sounds clearly and is flourishing in
school.
Let's celebrate Mariam's journey and the transformative power of love. Thanks to everyone who played a part in this
heartwarming story of hope and inspiration!

One of our New American clients, Anatolii Misiura, met with Dr. Hunson Soong at the University of
Michigan in Ann Arbor regarding OC prosthetics. Anatolii is a Ukrainian defender from Mariupol who
fought in the battles near Kharkiv and was a combatant of the battalion. Brian True started a nonprofit
organization called Eye Care for Ukraine to help refugees get the services they need and our Samaritas
case worker, Liliana Masnytska, connected Anatolii with Brian. This partnership is very helpful and it's
incredible to see how this collaboration has been helping people who need these services.
