• Grade 1 – Punggol Primary School Exchange
Grade 1 had the honor of being involved in a school exchange program with Punggol Primary School (PPS).
SKIS students hosted over 30 local children to our school for a day of exciting cultural enrichment. The day
started with the performance of a traditional Korean dance known as Talchum, after which students were given
the chance to try it themselves and taught the history and meaning behind it. Next, the children were given a
pendant in the shape of the Tal used in the dance and allowed to decorate it themselves to act as a keepsake
of the day’s event. For the second half of the day, the students learned basic Taekwondo moves from Master
Kim and were even given their own Taekwondo belt. The day was rounded off fantastically by a Taekwondo
demonstration by Master Kim’s top students.
